Since 1997, The Strand has been a locally owned hair salon in Columbia, Missouri built around talented stylists and genuine relationships with their clients.
Christy and Mitchell started The Strand downtown in 1997 because they wanted the freedom to make their own decisions and, more importantly, build personal relationships with the people sitting in their chairs. That philosophy is still at the heart of the salon today.
Having moved to its current location in 2009, the salon has grown and changed over the years, but the things that matter most have stayed the same: quality work, personal attention, professional stylists, and a welcoming place to take care of yourself.

For years, our front desk team handled appointments, rebooking, confirmations, and questions. Today, our stylists manage those relationships directly.
That means you'll connect with your stylist to schedule your appointment. Depending on the stylist, you may book online, call, or text directly.
You'll still get the same personal attention, quality services, and relationships that have kept clients coming back for decades.
